The Future of Industry Is Being Shaped by Artificial Intelligence
The event, held at the Denizli OSB Regional Directorate Conference Hall, was attended by Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, Denizli OSB Chairman of the Board Derya Baltalı, PAÜ Vice Rector and Denizli OSB Technopark General Manager Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnel, GEKA Secretary General Ümit Gülyağı, Denizli OSB Deputy Chairman of the Board Selim Yaymanoğlu, Board Member Mehmet Çalışkan, Regional Director Ahmet Taş, Pamukkale Technocity General Manager Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aksel, deans, vocational school directors, faculty members, and numerous industrialists.
Delivering the opening remarks, Denizli OSB Chairman of the Board Derya Baltalı said:
“As Denizli OSB, our goal with the Technopark we are establishing is to strengthen technology-based production in our region and bring our industry together with innovative solutions. Through our collaboration with Pamukkale University, we are creating a robust innovation ecosystem in which academic knowledge will be transferred to our industrial sector. Additionally, in line with our environmentally sensitive production approach, our Wastewater Treatment Plant and SPP projects contribute significantly to sustainable development. I hope this event will pave the way for new collaborations and I extend my thanks to all stakeholders who contributed.”
In his speech, GEKA Secretary General Ümit Gülyağı emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence and said:
“In today’s world, the key to remaining competitive lies in adapting to innovative technologies. Artificial intelligence offers significant opportunities for all businesses, from SMEs to large industrial organizations. As GEKA, we continue to implement projects that support this transformation.”
Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör shared an important announcement with participants during the panel:
“I am pleased to announce that the Department of Artificial Intelligence will officially begin operating under our Faculty of Engineering. We are delighted to see master’s and doctoral-level studies on artificial intelligence being carried out at various universities across our country. In this context, the necessary consultations have been held with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and applications regarding the establishment of the department will be completed within December. As Pamukkale University, we aim to build a strong academic structure in the field of artificial intelligence both regionally and nationally.”
Following the opening speeches, a panel session was held under the moderation of PAÜ Vice Rector and Denizli OSB Technopark General Manager Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz. During the session,

delivered presentations providing participants with comprehensive information on the integration of artificial intelligence into industry, digital transformation, efficiency in production processes, future technologies, and practical application examples.
The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to the speakers and a technical visit to a company operating within the region.
